A Letter to IP Parents Dear All, 　　The School Council has made a decision that beginning next semester (August 2008), Clifford Kindergarten will separate itself into two divisions: the “Bilingual Program” (BP) and the “International Program” (IP). The BP, including Pre-K remains on the current campus, while the IP Kindergarten will move to Lakeside Classic of Clifford Estates, as a branch of Clifford Kindergarten. By creating a stand-alone full-day IP Kindergarten school, the students would benefit from a pure English immersion environment, where the medium of communication and instruction is in English. This enhances Clifford Kindergarten’s full-day-English program and would enable students to develop their English language skills. This division enjoys the following advantages: Administration Both IP and BP remain under the auspices of Clifford Kindergarten, which means there is no change to the Kindergarten’s administrative team. The team is supplemented through the addition of two new administrators, with both Chinese and Western leaders shouldering administrative responsibilities. Staff & Faculty The faculty of our IP Division will remain the same, but will receive additional support to more fully develop the English language environment. Students will receive primary instruction from their homeroom teacher. Additionally, students will benefit from extra curricular instruction by a dance instructor, an art teacher, a PE instructor, etc. A support staff for health care, security, cafeteria, and environment hygiene will ensure safeguard the security and health of the students. Finally, Mr. Cao will keep coming for classes. Curricula Curricula and teaching will follow the current model, with additional Western pre-school educational characteristics. Facilities Due to the building of a brand new campus, our IP Division will witness a significant upgrade of its teaching facilities including a dance room, art room, reading room, cafeteria, game room, etc., all equipped with brand-new educational equipment. Board and Lodging The IP Division will enjoy a kitchen that will incorporate Western cuisine, another step towards international standards. we will no longer enroll children for this service in our IP Division. 　　The construction for our IP Division in the Lakeside Classic area was completed in November 2007, and checks by relevant officials will be conducted by the end of March 2008. Afterwards, projects for outdoor activities including a swimming pool, a sandbox, running tracks, large toys, a square, and campus grounds, will commence. New supplies will arrive by the end June as scheduled. Upon completion of our new campus we welcome you to visit the school.
